* Cleated deep boxes do not have hand holds cut out. They have 1x2 cleats and are easier to pick up when you are manipulating them. The hand holds on a deep brood box cause a cooler spot in the box in the winter where the wood is thinner. On a western it is find since they are only on in the summer and they are lighter then a deep.
